Introduction to the Northern Boundary Project

The Legal Clinic of Guelph and Wellington County is funded by Legal Aid Ontario and governed by a community Board of Directors. The Legal Clinic has established the Northern Boundary Project in order to directly serve the north of Wellington County this summer.

From the end of May until the beginning of August, two caseworkers from the Legal Clinic, Devin Winson and Richard Jordan, have established up offices in Palmerston, Mount Forest, Arthur and Harriston in order to provide free advice to clients in Wellington North. You can find more details of the office locations and the dates when Devin and Richard will be in each of these communities through this website.

The Legal Clinic of Guelph and Wellington County in each of these communities will offer free advice on a range of different legal areas, including Housing (Landlord and Tenant problems), Social Assistance (Ontario Works and Ontario Disability Support Program), Employment Insurance, Canada Pension Plan Disability (CPP-d) and Human Rights. In a partnership with the Legal Aid Certificate Office in Guelph, Devin and Richard will also be able to take applications for Legal Aid Certificates and bring them back to the office in Guelph in order for them to be processed.

Through this project, the Legal Clinic of Guelph and Wellington County hopes to gauge the need for on-site services in the north of Wellington County and to increase the Clinic’s outreach activities in the County by working with non-profit agencies and community groups.
